Albany Rebels Season

Role: Lead Producer

In Spring 2019 I was Lead Producer on the Albany's first Rebels Season. The season celebrated people who shake things up and make positive change. It featured disruptive, radical, rebellious work about politics, protest, breaking the mould and celebrating difference.

We encouraged artists to experiment with form as well as theme, and the season featured work across all art forms; music, theatre, spoken word, circus, cabaret and of course work that didn’t fit into boxes.

The season included new and established work from Encounter, Ravioli Me Away, Brigitte Aphrodite, Jess Green, Nwando Ebizie and many more. There were also six brand new commissions from Hidden Track, Suhaiymah Manzoor-Khan, ivo theatre, Anna-Maria Nabiyre and Jess Mabel Jones, Carolyn Defryn and Abigail Butcher, and a commission specifically for Learning Disabled artists in collaboration with Mind The Gap which was awarded to Cecil B Dyslexic.
